Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy since
1918, Mercy Hospital is a private, not-for-profit community hospital and a member
of the Catholic Health East group of hospitals. With a roster of staff and associates
of over 900, the hospital provides a broad spectrum of services to the people
of Southern Maine. The Birthplace, Breast Center, Oncology Center and an affiliation
with the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice are all recent, dedicated special
use additions to the mix of services.
Marjorie Anderson, Manager of Library Services at Mercy Hospital, comments:
